All concerts are held at the Subiaco Arts Centre,
180 Hamersley Road, Subiaco.
Concerts begin at 2pm and finish at approximately 3.30pm.
Each concert includes a short interval.
Refreshments are available for purchase at the venue.

Tickets

Due to the popularity of the concerts, an on-the-day ticketing system
applies to all tickets. Doors open at 1.15pm, at which time,
one ticket is allocated to each person until all tickets are gone.

Imperial String Quartet, Just Sax, Brendan Biddis
Created by North Street Music, Chamber Jam is a classical music concert like no other.  WA's classical talent comes together to present classical music like you've never heard it before.  Audiences will experience stunning pieces from the classical repertoire, through to arrangements of some of the most modern fun music taken from rock, pop, jazz and other genres.  Be surprised !

 

 

GARRY LEE TRIO WITH SPECIAL GUEST DENISE DALE | 25 JULY

Garry Lee Trio is unique in the world of jazz. Garry doubles vibraphone and guitar – a combination virtually unprecedented – and Lukasz Slawomirski doubles keyboards or piano with keyboard bass. Along with drummer Tim Woolley the trio is able to create amazingly varied and sophisticated jazz and Latin textures. Garry Lee Trio is joined by vocalist Denise Dale. Denise possesses a warm resonant voice and sings a repertoire of popular standards including recent pop tunes that lend themselves to a jazz interpretation. Denise is one of those rare vocalists whose personality seems to shine through as she sings. She is an experienced vocalist who has guested with WA Symphony Orchestra.

 

 

JASON AYRES WITH JESSICA HEWETT | 1 AUGUST

One of WA’s finest acoustic pop-rock artists, Jason Ayres, will launch his latest CD Chasing Ghosts backed by his band of talented musicians. Acoustic folk-pop songstress, Jess Hewett, will open the performance.

 

 

 

 

DAVE BREWER WITH SPECIAL GUEST LUCKY OCEANS | 8 AUGUST

For over three decades, Dave Brewer has been the backbone for many of this country’s most seminal acts, including the Elks, Dynamic Hepnotics, the Mighty Reapers and The Catholics. Along with Lucky Oceans on pedal steel guitar, Ric Eastman on drums and Matt Willis on double bass, the Dave Brewer band takes you on a diverse musical journey covering blues, reggae, jazz, funk and more!

 

 

 

YARN SPINNERS AND BUSH POETS | 15 AUGUST

GRACE BARBE AND THE SEYCHELLES RYTHMNS | 22 AUGUST

With roots in the tiny Indian Ocean nation of Seychelles, home to a unique culture that fuses Africa, Europe and Asia, Grace Barbe (pronounced Bar-bay) is a singer, songwriter and musician whose music, like her mixed heritage, reflects and celebrates the diverse influences of her Creole culture. The combination of afro-Creole, island roots and reggae, sung in Creole, English and French, laced with a modern pop sensibility have created a fresh sound in world music fusion. An experienced performer with a strong stage presence and a gift for songwriting, Grace and collaborator James Searle won the 2006 WAMI ‘Song of the Year’ award in the world and folk category for their song “Mon Ankor Anmoure”.

 

 

URBAN COWBOY BAND | 29 AUGUST

As a southern styled six piece, the Urban Cowboy Band transform through the spirit of new country rock, blues and gospel. The Urban Cowboy has performed through the US including The Australian Festival when in Nashville Tennessee, the ANZACC in Atlanta Georgia and for the USAFL, and in Australia for the Moora Country Music Campout Concert and the AFL. The Urban Cowboy Band supported  Jimmy Barnes at the renowned Doodlakine gig October last year and Adam Brand in 08. UCB will be launching a new single ‘Break of Day Blues’ at the Aug 29 event.

 

 

Subiaco Arts Centre Adam Hall and the Velvet PlayboysADAM HALL AND THE VELVET PLAYBOYS | 5 SEPTEMBER

Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys are a six piece band dedicated to the performance of an exciting live show. The music captures a mood reminiscent of the Rat Pack or Louis Prima in Las Vegas – smooth jazz, rockin’ blues and boogie woogie. Also, more contemporary music in a similar vein– e.g. James Brown, Harry Connick Jr. Adam has long been a favourite of Perth’s legion of young swing dancers.

 

 

 

Subiaco Arts Centre Angel SoundsANGEL SOUNDS | 12 SEPTEMBER

Bronwyn Wallis completed a Bachelor of Music at UWA majoring in harp performance. In 2004 Bronwyn played with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for Opera Australia’s acclaimed production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. In 2005 she performed in the USA and Europe with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Since 2002, Bronwyn performs regularly with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra. Bronwyn promises an afternoon of heavenly delights from classical to folk and pop.

Sabroson are a nine-piece ensemble who offer a contemporary take on Afro-Cuban music. Their mix of salsa classics, original songs and popular current tunes reworked with a Latin flavour is highly infectious and guaranteed to be a hit with audience members young and old.

 

 

 

 

Subiaco Arts Centre The DomnicksTHE DOMNICKS | 26 SEPTEMBER

Expect an afternoon of good honest Rock ‘n Roll with these rock legends. The DomNicks combine the Perth Garage Rock/Power Pop legend Dom Mariani (The Stems, DM3), with the British punk attack of Nick Shepherd (The Clash, The Cortinas). Formed in 2007 the band was a meeting of musical minds for Dom and Nick who teamed up with Howard Shawcross vintage bass man (The Elks, Dave Warner) and Marz Frisina on the kit (The Calhoons) . The DomNicks will show off their love for classic Rock ‘n Roll with a selection of finely crafted originals and well chosen classics. Warning: This show could get loud !
